Abstract
Salah satu tindakan mandiri keperawatan guna mempertahankan fungsi ventilasi paru klien PPOK (penyakit paru obstrruksikronis) adalah mengatur posisi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji perbedaan pengaruh antara posisi high fowler dan
orthopneic terhadap fungsi ventilasi paru pada klien PPOK. Penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan pendekatan pre-test post-test
group melibatkan 36 responden yang diambil secara consecutive. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa posisi high fowler dan
orthopneic dapat meningkatkan nilai arus puncak ekspirasi (APE) (p= 0,0005, α= 0,05). Fungsi ventilasi paru klien terlihat
lebih baik dengan posisi orthopneic daripada posisi high fowler (p= 0,0005, α= 0,05). Ada hubungan antara usia dan fungsi
ventilasi paru. Tinggi badan, berat badan, dan jenis kelamin tidak mempengaruhi fungsi ventilasi paru. Berdasarkan hasil
temuan ini, direkomendasikan agar memberikan posisi orthopneic kepada klien PPOK dengan dispnea untuk meningkatkan
fungsi ventilasi paru.
