Withdrawal and Retraction
Article Withdrawal
Any manuscript withdrawn from the peer-review or publication process requires the submission of an official Article Withdrawal Letter. This letter must state the explicit reasons for the withdrawal and must be signed by the corresponding author and all listed co-authors. Withdrawing a manuscript at any point during the peer review or acceptance process will result in the author being barred from future submissions.
- For manuscripts that have already completed the final processing and publication steps, any publication fees previously paid are strictly non-refundable. The formal withdrawal of a manuscript will only be processed and finalized once the applicable withdrawal fee has been settled in full.
Failure to comply with these withdrawal terms or a refusal to pay the required fee will result in the author(s) and their accompanying institutional affiliation being barred from future submissions to JKI. Additionally, the journal reserves the right to retract or remove the authors’ previously published works from the online repository.
Article Retraction
In accordance with the COPE Retraction Guidelines, JKI will issue a formal retraction if the findings of a published article are determined to be unreliable. An article may be retracted under the following circumstances:
- Unreliable findings: Clear evidence shows that the conclusions are invalid due to scientific misconduct (e.g., data fabrication or falsification), honest major errors (e.g., miscalculations or experimental errors), or severe undisclosed conflicts of interest.
- Redundant publication: The findings have been previously published elsewhere without appropriate permission, justification, or cross-referencing
- Plagiarism and authorship issues: The article involves plagiarism (appropriating another’s ideas, processes, results, or words without credit) or inappropriate manipulation of authorship that compromises research integrity.
- Unethical research: The published work reports unethical research practices.
- Compromised process: An investigation reveals evidence of systematic manipulation of the peer-review or publishing process.
